Cait had been going through a bit. Well a lot actually. So thats how we ended up in this old mini van, traveling 75 mph on the interstate. It was family vacation time. Caitlin was asleep in the seat right next to me. Magnus Dylan alex and Brian were all in te backseat. Brian was softly snoring in his carseat. Alex was jumping up and down. Magnus and Dylan however, were being immature for being teens. Magnus had the iPod and was playing angry birds. Appearently Dylan decided it was his turn with the device.
He smacked Magnus on te back of his head making him drop the iPod and spill his pop on his pants. "look what you did!" he screamed. "And so it begins." I mumbled under my breath. Magnus had returne fire by throwing ice cubes at Dylan. I was literally Turning red. If they woke up their mother, I swear. "Magnus Dylan! If either one of you wake your motor or brother you are going to get it! Same fate if you break tht thing!" I said pointing to the iPod that ale now had in his grasp. Dylan rolled his eyes and sat back down. Magnus however had jot given up this fight. He looked back at Dylan then at me. Then like a complete idiot he took brians full tippy cup and dropped it on his brothers, unmentionables....
Dylan screamed out in pain for obvious reasons. I quickly pulle over to te side of the road. I took te keys out of the ignition and threw them on the dash board. Caitlin was still sound asleep. I turned back to Dylan and Magnus at the moment I was furious. "Dylan you okay?" I asked with concern. "just fine.." he choked out. Alex sat there sipping his large milkshake and playing angry birds as I sorted out the fued. "Dylan Magnus you two are not to touch each other or the iPod for the rest of the trip. Do you understand?" I asked putting out my hand. Both of then rolle their eyes and shook my hand.
I drove for another five miles without any problems. Dylan had fallen asleep, and Magnus was listening to the radio. Alex was still slurping his milkshake and playing with his prize, the ipod. "Can we pull over?" He said suddenly, a look of panic painted his face. We were in a construction zone, so that was a big no. "No. Why?" I said looking over my shoulder cautiously. My question was answered as barf flew, all over Magnus...
It took us a full hour to get to a gas station to clean Magnus up. He was disgusted, and quite frankly so was I. He leapt out of the car and ran to the entrancer, trying not to be spotted. Alex was also pretty dirtied up so I took him inside too. I left a sleeping Brian, Dylan and Caitlin in the car. Magnus was in the mens room stripping his shirt off. "Well, that's ruined.." He muttered. "Please tell me you packed more." I sighed lifting Alex up on the counter. I wetted a paper towel and started to clean him off. "Nope, thought I would only need one." He said giving himself a small shower with a paper towel. I smacked my face. "You are just so lucky, that I have a 10 dollar bill, and this place sells t-shirts." I muttered.
After our little shower time in the bathroom I bought each boy a new t-shirt. I guess they both kind of deserved it. Then we returned to the car. "Anybody else want to empty themselves?" I asked annoyed. No response came. "Good." I put the keys back into the ignition and we were off again.
We were exactly one hour away from all civilization, and halfway through the forest, and yet another 2 hours to drive. When suddenly, of course, Dylans eyes fluttered open. "I need to go to the bathroom." He said. I put my head on the steering wheel. Caitlin slowly stirred awake. "Are we there yet?" She said rubbing her head. Her headache still hadn't gone away. "No. And Dylan either pick a tree as we go along or hold it." I said. "What's that smell?" Cait asked waving around her nose. "Alex, well, emptied himself." I said quietly. "Yeah all over me!" Magnus added.
Caitlin almost laughed. She held it in and smiled, "So we're almost there?" She asked avoiding the subject. "Yeah, a few more miles." I told her pointing to the GPS who had been screaming at me to reroute over fifteen times. "Yay!" She said happily. We drove in silence for a little while, but that didn't float Caitlins boat. "Let's play a game." She said merrily. "Okay!" Alex said. "Anyone up for I spy?" She asked. Dylan and Magnus groaned. "Alright then..... Uh.... we could sing?" She said, then started to laugh. "It's Saturday Saturdat gotta get down on Saturday!" She started. We were all against it at first, but then we got into the flow and we couldn't stop singing.
Finally a full hour, and a full bladdered Dylan later we made it to our campsite. A firepit sat in the middle, surrounded by dirt. The best part of this spot, it was free, and it was right next to the lake. Dylan just about ran a mile into the wooded area, even though there was a sign that the bathrooms were up ahead and to the left. Magnus jumped out with Brian in his arms, Alex was quickly at his heels. They ran down by the lake, with Caitlin calling for them to be careful. Dylan joined them at the waters edge.
"This is going to be nice." Caitlin said dragging a tent out of the back of the van that we borrowed from some inlaw of mine. "Yeah, it is." For a moment we just stared at each other, but the simplicity of the moment was brutely ruined when we heard a scream, and then a crash into the water.
After Alex dragged his soaked body out of the water I called for a family picture. Matthew and Dylan struck poses and Alex and Magnus just stood there.
I decided that Brian wasn't going to have any fun if he was a toddler, so we grabbed an extra cake out of the van, yes we do carry around extra cakes, and had him blow out the candles.
He aged into a rather, bright, young little boy. Woohoo! Let's have some fun!
Matthew took me into his arms. "This IS going to be nice." He whispered in my ear. I hugged him tighter, and replied "It sure is." Dylan and Magnus just stared. "Come on now, no babies on this voyage." Dylan said which sent Magnus into a spiral of laughter. "We can make out if you want!" I told them, they both dashed into their tent.
The boys wanted to go swimming badly, so I decided I would let them. What's going to happen? Brian ran over to the waters edge in his swimsuit. He timidly dunked a foot in the water, then stepped back. "It's fine." Alex told him. Brian shook his head no and sat at the waters edge. Dylan and Magnus demised a plan, they quietly crept out of the water and came up behind Brian. With one simple push Brian flew into the water, as he came down he screamed and plugged his nose.
His body crashed into the water and he scrambled to the surface. "That wasn't nice!" He screamed paddling on the surface. He finally started to calm down and quit freaking out. Dylan and Magnus were still rolling around laughing by the waters edge. I have my hands on some naughty boys.
Matt and I decided to go fishing. "Bet you I will catch the best thing." He told me smiling. "Your on! What to bet?" I asked tugging my line. "Hmm.. A kiss?" He asked. "Hmm, Nah, thats too generic, how about one of us has to, oh I know! We have to teach Dylan how to drive!" I said laughing. "Oh, You are so on!" He said excitedly.
Of course, he got to catch the stupid little treasure chest containing the stupid little magic gnome while I caught the stupid goldfish that smelled like, well, fish. "Haha! I win!" Matthew said laughing. "Congrats!" I elbowed him playfully.
After my loss I started the fire, the lighter refused to ignite the charcoaled wood. Matthew came up behind me a grabbed the lighter. The wood still refused. "Want to cheat?" Matthew asked smiling. "Sure?" I responded not sure of what he was up to. He jogged over to the car and opened up the hatch to reveal a gas can. He jogged back over with the can in his hand. "Alright step back." He told me, I listened. Then he poured a bit of the gas on the wood. He took the lighter and lit up the wood. It burst into a nice burning flame. "Magical!" I said laughing.
He pulled me into a quick hug. "Alright now no babies." Magnus said under his breath. Matthew pecked my cheek and Magnus walked away.
When nightfall came we all sat around the campfire. No we didn't end up singing a campfire song sadly. I ripped open a bag of marshmallows and we all got to roasting.
Mine caught on fire quickly. I blew it out, but it was too late, it had already charcoaled and burned.
We practically all burnt our marshmallows and weren't anxious to eat more, plus it was getting really dark. "Ghost story time?" I asked. "Yes!" The boys all said in unison.
I began my story with somebody being in a grocery store. Alex let out a long scream. "What?" I asked breaking character. "Grocery stores are scary..." He shivered. Magnus and Dylan started to laugh. Brian was slowly falling asleep. I quickly finished up my story and sent them all to bed.
I climbed into the tent with Matt.
Matthew crawled back out of the tent and pulled me back out by my legs. I began to laugh. "What are you doing?" I asked giggling. "Romancing you my dear." He replied smiling. He took me over to a clearing, a perfect view of the stars painted the sky. "I love you." I whispered. Matthew wrapped his arm around my back.
We sat in silence for a while then Matthew put his hand on my thigh. "How are you feeling?" He asked quietly. "Perfect." I replied. "Oh really?" He asked. I wasn't quite following. "Really?" I said back. He let out a laugh. "You don't understand do you?" He asked. "No.." I replied. He plucked me up from the ground and faced me. "I'll show you." he said.
He held me in his arms for a while.
We ended up kissing, then he held me longer. "Can I have the honors?" He asked. "Of what my love?" I whispered into his ear. He kind of pulled away. "It's only if your up to it." He whispered. "Anything." I told him quietly. "I want to be the father of baby 35." He whispered, adding his dorky smile to it. I kind of laughed a little. "No?" He asked.
"I would be honored for you to be baby 35's dad. Screw the rules. And you don't have to ask." I told him. He smiled. I grabbed his hand and led him to the tent. "You know, I can't stay with you after this, its against the rules." I said laughing. "Oh shucks!" He replied smiling.
We entered the tent. And well.. Got.... Busy...
In the morning the boys went fishing. They all caught decent sized fish, then cooked them over the fire. I didn't want to kill, or eat a fish, so I just fried up an apple.
I ended up burning my apple. And it tasted like grass and mud.
The boys weren't enjoying their meal either. Dylan made it look like eating it was painful.
Brian was just discusted by the taste.
Alex, disliked it all together.
Matthew didn't even like it! "I'm making a promise. On our way home, we are hitting a fast food resturant, maybe Mcdonalds. But my gosh! Fish isn't on the menu for the rest of the year!" He said seriously.
Once our discusting breakfast was finished the boys went to catch one of the many light beetles that were crawling around. "I'm going to get it!" Brian squealed. "Yeah right!" Alex told him.
Brian knelt down and picked one up. "I see one too!" Alex said excitedly. As Brian picked up his little bug Alex knelt down to get his.
He shoved it into his pocket. Then both boys ran to the lake and jumped in. Magnus and Dylan went fishing with Matthew, and I just sat back and relaxed. The day was long and slow, I even finished my book before sunset. The boys came dripping wet out of the lake, and right into their tents. I stayed put until Matthew came over and sat on my lap. "Santa, I want a boy. And some decent food." He said smiling. "Its a deal." I said smiling. "Ready for bed?" I asked. "Nah, go right ahead." He said. I rose to my feet. "I'll be waiting." I whispered.
I rubbed my neck as I went to the tent. I wasn't ready to sleep on the hard ground.
Before I made it to the tent, I threw up. It burned, and was the first sign that, Matthew was going to be a daddy again, and this time he got to stay home full time with his little one.
I wiped my mouth and went to the tent.
Matt's Pov... I haven't slept a whole night peacefully the whole time I've been home. It may seem that I'm asleep to Caitlin, but I'm wide awake on the inside. It's hard to talk about though, I mean, a grown man having nightmares? That's just pathetic. Although, they seem so real. Its always the same one, or a modified one. The bomb exploding, time standing still as it takes the lives of my troop members. In the modified version, its taking Caits and Bridgets life. Yeah, I know it'd never happen, I'd never let it happen, unless Bridget was getting on my nerves. I'm kidding. So I lay awake every night, I'm almost positive Caitlin knows, because when I'm most awake she seems to hold onto me tighter, and lays closer into my chest.
I poke the fire trying to keep it from going out.
Caitlin climbed out of the tent and sat down. "I thought you were going to sleep." I said startled. "Uh-huh. And I thought you'd be in there in a minute. But sitting in there for a half hour all alone, I think someone lied." She said looking at me. "Sorry, just uh. Making the fire go out." I replied.
"You're such a bad liar." She said smiling stealing my line. "You don't have to hide the nightmares. I get it." she said. "Really?" I asked. She slid over onto my lap. "Really." She replied. I held onto her by her stomach. "Ready for bed?" She asked. "Yes." I replied kissing her cheek.
I climbed into the tent right after her, ready to sleep the night away.
Caitlin's Pov
In the morning the baby kicked my stomach, showing me that he/she was really here.
Matthew and I went fishing. We needed some new pets around the house, if we remembered to feed them they would last a while.
I caught a goldfish. It's name is Herman!
Matthew kept catching trout. Show off! But I realized something in the midst of fishing. If one of us got to the skill level 10 we could catch a deathfish. Then I could borrow some life fruit from Sarah since she's supposed to be an expert gardener, then since I can cook with a level 10 skill level I could make ambrosia and Scarlet could come back to life!!! It was a perfect plan! We fished all day, and all I got to was the lousy skill level of 4...
When I told Matthew that I was pregnant he was overjoyed. This pregnancy was going smooth, but I'm not sure why the other one didn't. Maybe it was just a minor fluke. "Hi baby!" Matthew said to my belly.
"I think he responded!" Matthew said pressing his ear up to my stomach. "It's a he?" I asked. "Of course!" Matthew said smiling.
Matthew took Alex and Brian on a nature walk, Matthew gave me a beautiful boquet of white flowers. "Did you walk to a flower shop?" I asked smelling the flowers. "No ha, Alex saw them and we picked them, your boquet is held up by a nicely used paper towel." Matt said smiling. I pulled him into a quick hug.
Then he pecked my cheek. "I love you." I whispered. "I do too." He replied, which made me laugh.
My belly was growing at a very fast rate. Matthew felt it. "Oh yeah that is definitely a boy." He said smiling. "Are you a doctor now?" I asked. Matthew just laughed.
As the sun set we all ripped open another bag of marshmallows and started to roast them.
But, things are always interupted. I went into labor, quite early actually!
Brian and Alex began freaking out.
While I screamed through the first contractions.
Aparently its even a dance now!!
Then, the pain lessoned. I was ready to have an "at home" birth.
And just as Matt said. It was a little baby boy. I gave him the honors of naming our new little boy. Welcome to the world Henry. Welcome to the world.
Matt's Pov. The next morning we packed everything up. It was time to return home. All of the boys were sleeping, including Caitlin and Henry. I clutched the steering wheel and pulled out of the gas station parking lot that I just filled up at. It's time that I take my family home.
Well, I hope you enjoyed! If you want to gift me you can here. It would be greatly appreciated!! Please comment! I love comments! And/or follow, and show your mom, your dad, your friend, your sister, your best friend, a stranger, show anyone that would like to read an awesome story! Well Thanks for reading!! =]
