Revelations Part II

STRONG LANGUAGE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! READ AT OWN RISK!! (Its only 2 words but still... sorry no pics either.)
I never called Diana. I contemplated it, but I wasn't done. It didn't make any sense. She was hiding something, something that I desparately wanted to know. So in the morning when I walked in with cereal and a fresh glass of ice water she seemed genuinely surprised. "That's another thing I could never grasp about you Caitlin. You're so damn nice even when nothing goes your way." She said eyeing me. I politely nodded, and took a seat on the bed.

"Listen.. Your story was really inspiring, and for the first time in my life I finally thought you were telling the truth, but I can't help to think you left something out.. Something very, vert important" I said. My mother showed no emotion at all. She set the water down and looked at me with such an intensity I wanted to leave the room and not ever return to it. "Perhaps I have left some minor details out, but those I am keeping to myself." She said with a curt nod.

"Not going to tell me?" I asked. She slowly shook her head. "You know, a while back you tried to be nice to me... That was another time you thought you were going to die. You said and I quote 'I just need to get things off of my chest.' Now mom, then you escaped death, this time its at your door, and there's no way you're getting out of this one. So tell me, what really happened." I said, keeping my eyes locked on her the entire time. She broke out in a pristine sweat. "I can't tell you, you already hate me, I can't have you hate me anymore.." She whispered.

"Not one time have I said I hate you and actually meant it, mom. I love you know matter how thick skulled you are." I replied nonchalantly. "What if I told you something that was so bad you didn't want me in your sight?" She asked, her eyes gleaming pleading for the truth. "Well that depends, what are you hiding?" I replied. "You have to swear not to tell another soul.." She murmered. I drew a cross over my heart. "I promise." Escaped my lips slowly and smoothly, like it was meant to.

"Everything was truthful, up to Jack taking Micheal and leaving..." She whispered. "Jack did take Micheal and they did leave for a week or two, there was in fact a letter, but then they came back. In that time I drank until I couldn't tell left from right, up from down, chair from person, happy from sad. I drank until I didn't have to see the world anymore. When they came home I was so out of it I didn't even realize they were home, until the hangover buzzed off and I was craving for more."

'When I got up to get more brandi, I could hear the distinct sound of liquid being poured down a drain.. I ran to the bathroom, where I thought it was coming from and Jack was pouring all of my alchohol down the drain. I freaked out. 'Why?' I had shouted at him. He responded smoothly 'because I don't want your son seeing this.' and then he poured the rest of my alchohol down the drain. I flipped out, I was still buzzing from a headache, still over the legal limit even though I had drank nine or so hours before."

'I didn't know what I was doing... I-I went into the kitchen, and I grabbed a knife, and I-I just walked up to Jack, and I," My mother started to sob. "I grabbed him by his shirt and I dragged him into the nursery that he had painted. I took Micheal out of his toddler bed and I set him on the ground next to Jack." My mothers words were slurring together and she was talking so quickly I could barely keep up, and at this point I barely wanted to, but my mind was hanging on every word, like a story that had gone amiss, a thriller that should never end. "I-I looked Jack in the eyes, and I said loud and clear 'You don't want your son to see me anymore? Well I can make that happen!' I taped Jack to the wall with duct tape, it took me almost an hour to do that simple task, he fought and fought, and I cut and cut. I took Micheal and looked him in the eyes, you're fucking eyes Caitlin! He gurgled then started to cry, and you know what I did?" She said, and I slowly shook my head.

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT I DID!?!?!" My mother screamed louder than ever. "I don't!" I yelled back, tears streaming down my face, unwilling to hear more, but not saying a word. "I took that knife and I killed my little boy! Then when I had enough I went to Jack. 'He won't see anything now!' I yelled at his face, and then I killed him too! CAITLIN I'm a murderer!" She screamed, I jumped from the bed, finally getting away from my mother. "You're sick." I muttered, looking into her eyes, that were bewildered.

"I buried them in the backyard, skipped town, changed my name, got records changed, became a new person, met your dad and had you kids. When I gave birth to you, you were him and I swore someone was out to get me, or that someone would be you one day. So I made sure there were no connections with you. You have his smile, his eyes, his personality, I couldn't do it again. I thought for sure I would kill you. So I made sure I wouldn't." My mother explained. "Well guess what. You just did." I said back, and this time I didn't leave the room. I got out my phone and I called Matt, who was at work. "What's up?" He had asked. "I've just heard a confession to a murder, can you have someone here right away?" I said slowly back into the receiver, I hung up and looked my mother square in the eyes. "You're not the only one who can lie." I said, and I left the room, leaving the last words hanging in the air.

Revelations. Part I

My mother was here in a day, Diana and Sarah were going to come along, but decided against it, my mother didn't want them here. I let her lie in my bed, so she was comfortable, she said she wanted to go out at home and this was as close as she could get. The only reason she chose me was because she had some "Business to attend to." I didn't exactly know her plan, but I was perfectly fine with it. With the kids in bed and Matt downstairs writing more reports I tiptoed into the room to give her some water.

She was wide awake. "Cait, why don't you sit down." She says, her voice scratchy and strained like its hard to talk. I sit down on the edge of the bed, my mother softly tucks my hair behind my ear, something I realize she's never done before, something she did so constantly for Sarah and Diana they didn't enjoy her touch, even though that's the only thing I craved. "I don't hate you, you know." She whispers. "I know mom.. We've been over this.." I whisper back patting her hand. "Caitlin, we've been over the lies, I've never told you the truth."

"The truth?" I ask out loud. "It's a long story.." My mother says, her hand slides under the blankets, I've lost her again. "We have time.." I whisper making eye contact. Her eyes flash, remembering a past I've never heard of, she sits up on the bed, lifting herself gingerly. "I don't know where to start.." She whispers, looking at her hands that are slightly shaking. "The beginning." I whisper, and for the first time in my entire life she listens to me.
"I had a whole different life, before you're father came into the picture. I know I told you girls, or I should say I told Diana and Sarah all about how happy my past was, but they were all lies, your father didn't even know the truth. Before your father I had a boyfriend."
"He was beautiful, bright hazel eyes, very similar to my mothers almost identical, he had a smile that melted everyone's heart, his hair flowed smoothly, and when we were together nothing could stand in our way. Back then I did things I'm not proud of, I hung out with the wrong crowd. I was an alcoholic, my boyfriends name was Jack he wasn't accepting of the alcohol one bit, so when I was around him I tried my best to be sober, but when you drink you have a stench, and with that stench comes bloodshot eyes, and shaking of the hands, he could always tell I was lying."
"When I was nineteen I got pregnant, it was Jacks child, and he couldn't have been more proud. He was frightened though, he didn't think I could stay sober enough to stay pregnant to full term, or to give birth to a healthy baby. He never left my side, that entire nine months. I wanted to abort the baby, or give it up for adoption, but he wouldn't hear it."
"On October 28th at 2:07 in the morning I gave birth to a baby boy. We named him Micheal. He was perfect. He had my fathers bright blue eyes, he had my smile, freckles, light brown hair, he was the definition of perfect. We took him home two days later. That's when Jack realized what I had done."
"After the first month I just couldn't do it anymore. I broke down and left for a few days to see my parents, I didn't go to their house though. I went three towns over, to the nearest drug store that I could find and I purchased a bottle of whiskey. That night I drank to oblivion. I downed four bottles of whiskey in the second night, I went home the third day with new clothes, eyedrops, and fake gifts from my parents. I did that every month, sometimes I left for a week other times it was a mere two days. Jack never found out."
"Until Michael started to have problems with progression. He couldn't walk or talk as well as other children his age. Jack took him to a pediatrician, and she ruled it to drinking during the pregnancy. Jack went crazy, when we got home he yelled at me and packed his things. He left for three weeks with Michael, when they came back I was dead to the world, drunk and passed out on the ground in a puddle of vomit. Jack cleaned me up and in the morning apologized."
"Jack left with Micheal multiple times, but when Micheal was four years old I wasn't getting any better with my drinking. Micheal would come up on me when I was throwing up and I'd try to swing at him. He was my perfect little boy, but I was turning him into my personal punching bag. One day Micheal came and laid on me when I was on the couch, hammered from the morning. He snuggled close to me, so close his eyes started to water at the stench of my breath. 'Mommy.' he said his voice sweet and almost silent, like the flutter of a butterfly wing.  I didn't respond to him. 'Mommy, I love you.' Micheal said, and he got up off of me. He kissed my forehead, and walked away. That was the last time I ever saw him."

"Jack took him somewhere, somewhere I could never reach him. He called me and texted me, I never responded to them though. One day he wrote me a letter. I read that letter every night, it was the reason I became sober, the reason I stayed sober. I could recite every single word of that thing, how Micheal was doing great, how Jack was sorry he left but glad he did it, but none of that matters. In that letter he said this exact thing, 'You can't hate a person until you love them. There are things that I wish I hadn't done, but one thing was this. I couldn't let Micheal love you, just to be crushed, I didn't want to him to begin to hate you, not for who you were, but who you promised you would be for him. I don't hate you either, I just hate what you became. I told you to choose between Michael and I, or alcohol. Your choice is clear as day. Have a nice life.' I haven't talked to him since, someone sent me Jack's eulogy he died almost nine years back. I don't know where Micheal is now, or what he's done with his life, but I hope its something that would make Jack proud."

"This might not mean anything to you Cait, but its the perfect example of why I couldn't love you as much as I did Diana and Sarah. You were the exact copy of Micheal, from you're features, to your complications.Hell your birthday is four days before Micheal's. I couldn't love you, because I thought that if I did you'd be ripped out from under me. You were too perfect for me to grasp, I didn't deserve you. I wanted another baby so badly, to replace you, to replace the void that Micheal had left on me, I wanted a boy, but when I got you, a perfect copy of Micheal I threw you away, and all you wanted was my love." My mother says. She cups my head in her hands.

"If something had to define perfection it would be you. I'm sorry." My mother whispered. My face was moist with tears, but I was full of hatred. "So, because of your sick, twisted, selfish ways you treated me like dirt. I did everything that was asked of me, even more to prove my worth, and that was what was driving you away." I say, still trying to grasp what my mother was telling me, I pulled away from her hands. "Well when you put it that way..." She whispers. "So, if I had died my hair, oh say black and wore contacts that made my eyes green or something and acted like a fumbling idiot, you would've loved me." I whisper. "Probably.." My mother says. "Well guess what, you lost perfection once, you're going to lose it again, if you don't love me for who I am then why even try at this point? I'm calling Diana first thing tomorrow morning, whether you like it or not, and one more thing, how could you hate me when you never took the time to love me?" I say and I stomp out of the room. I slink to the ground leaning on the wall and let the tears roll down my face.

Happy New Year!! Babies 51 and 52

I realize this is quite late, but it's out so no more worries!!
Richard, Ian and Snow were ready to grow into promising teens. I got out three cakes, and lit the candles. Richard blew his candles out first, and transformed into a handsome teen. Snow and Ian soon followed.
Richard became an extreme coward, Snow was the fearless leader, and Ian was just, there. They all aged into gorgeous teens.
I brought Mikey up to his cake after the triplets were done. I blew out his candle and gently set him on the ground.
I picked Patrick up and blew out his candle too, I set him down next to Mikey and they quickly aged into cute little toddlers.
As they mimicked each other in looks, they mimicked each other in actions too. Monkey see, monkey do! I out them in swings and let them slowly drift off.
I logged onto the computer and began chatting with the other challenge mothers through a chat room they set up a while ago. Matt came into the room and began tending to Elephants needs. "You know most normal people have dogs for pets." I say spinning in the office chair. "I'm not multiple, nor am I normal." Matt said smirking. "Why don't you get a dog? Dog's are normal pets, NOT Squirrels!" I said. "I have one reason why we can't possibly get a dog." Matt responded turning around so he was looking at me. "And what is that?" I asked eyeing the conversation the other mother's were having. "Well do dogs make this sound? Snk-snk-sssnk like a squirrel?" Matt said, trying to imitate a squirrel. "Uhm...No...?" I responded staring at him. "Enough said. Who are you talking to?" He asked pointing to the computer screen. "Fellow challenge mothers, we're discussing our plans for the New years celebration. So far nobodys doing a thing." I said, shrugging. "Why don't you throw a party?" Matt asked. Something sparked inside.

A week later I left home for Sunset Valley, so it would be convienient, because that's where the selected club was at. I had a hotel room and everyone was ready to partay! Let's get it on!
Of the many challenge mothers these seven were the only ones who could make it, Skye Evrard, Alina Taylor, Charlie Evans, Elena Weddington, Della Wriner, Christy Quinn, and one who's name I can't remember for the life of me, the other six are just lucky I can remotely name them. We started out the night by dancing.
Every one of us went wild, there were no restrictions tonight!
The bartenders began mixing and concocting drinks for other people who were at the club, all of us caught wind of this and slowly made our ways to the bar. The first bartender wasn't gun shy and was spinning bottles around and around, he quickly got out four drinks in less than a minute, which made for quite the applause.
The second was younger, and definitely more self cautious. He began mixing a drink, "accidently" breaking bottles, he winked at one of the girls sitting at the bar and then before our eyes he was breathing out fire! This awarded him over one-hundred dollars in tips!
We all ordered drinks, and held them up to toast into the new year. Della drank hers down as soon as it reached her hand, so while we waited for the countdown she stood pretending to hold a glass. We watched countdown on the television, and everyone in the bar began to countdown. "Ten...Nine...Eight...Seven....Six....Five... FOUR.....THREE....TWO....ONE!!"
The entire club broke out in "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" and "IT'S 2012!!!" Everyone cheered and raised their glasses, we all drank our drinks down the moment the glass hit our lips. This year, was going to be amazing.
After that we all kind of dispersed throughout the club to do our own exciting things. Elena, Skye, and I went over to the bubble station. "The cotton candy ones are good." I said taking a deep breath in, filling my mouth with colorful tasty bubbles.
Elena blew out many yellow bubbles. "I'm a fan of pineapple." She said as she eyed the bubbles with amazement. She took another round of bubbles.
"Girls, it's mint all the way!" Skye exclaimed blowing out an assortment of blue bubbles. We continued to laugh and talk about pointless things.
Alina was busy dancing, along with Della and Charlie. A dj came on a loud speaker. "Alright ladies, and gents of course, it's time to get funky, with a little, DANCE CONTEST! So tie them tap shoes on tight and get on the dance floor, everyones a winner, free drinks on the house for dancers, free drinks all night for the winner!" He announced. Everyone fled to the dance floor.
Everyone started to dance wildly, and slowly people were taken off the dance floor one by one. In the end only Della and Charlie remained. "Let's pump it up!" The dj announced and he put on a beat that would be hard to match with dance moves.
Charlie took to it with ease, and she was crowned victor, she decided to share her winnings with everyone in the club, which made for many smiles and many drunk people. For the rest of the night we danced with random partners, took turns with the bubble bar, then someone brought in a big box of fireworks. "Free for all!" The stranger announced, he took everyone outside and began lighting the fireworks.
We all lied on the ground and stared at the sky with amazement.
My favorite ones were the ones that shot up then swirled, then in one quick boom were gone, like a flashing light.
At five am everyone was slowly starting to tucker out. I returned to my hotel room to get ready for the long drive ahead.
When I got home Ian, Richard, and Snow were gone. Matt's defense was that they begged, and he caved. I was fine with it, they knew what they were doing, so they were off for their new lives.
What I didn't expect to see was Mikey and Patrick as children. "I taught them their skills, I thought it would be a nice surprise." Matt said with a slight smile. I hugged him tightly. "You're perfect you know that?" I whispered. Matt merely laughed and hugged me, one of his palms didn't touch my back and when we pulled away I inspected why.
Elephant was placed in his palm, eyeing his surroundings. "What are you doing with the squirrel?" I asked. "I was going to take him for a walk." Matt said and he pulled out a tiny harnest and leash. I literally smacked my face with my palm. "Okay, maybe taking a fish for a walk is a bit too extreme, but taking a squirrel for a walk? Well that's just torture!" I said laughing.
"I think he'll like it." Matt said, tucking the leash back into his pocket. "But Matt, he's a squirrel, what happens when he see's all of the free squirrels and wants to join them? I think Elephant should stay inside." I said trying to reason, why I was saving this little squirrels life isn't clear to me, but I guess I'll find out with time.
"Fine, I won't take Elephant for a walk, I'll just watch tv with him or something." Matt said. "Good, I don't want to see him get hurt." I replied. "Just no more nonsense okay?" "Deal." Matt said with a smirk.
The doorbell rang and I went to answer it, meanwhile Matt stroked Elephant's fur with his finger and giggled. "My precious!!!" He whispered maniacly. "I heard that you nut!" I said turning around with a laugh. Matt was already sitting on the couch. "What was that? Dear?" He replied, clearly blushing under his extreme smile. "Oh nothing honey!!" I replied
A man was at the other side of the door. I went outside and quietly closed the door.
"Hello there." I said with a bright cheery smile. "Hello there Madam. Lovely weather we're having." The man said with a rather british accent. "It is, so how can I help you?" I asked, even though we both clearly knew the answer. "Well, as you can see I am a challenge father, unless you are blind then you can't see, but I was wondering if the Caitlin Murray would grant me as a father." He replied. "Names Perry Platts, although I am not fond of Perry the platypus." He said, smiling showing a neat array of straight teeth. "Well then I guess you qualify for being a challenge father!" I joked. I showed him inside, and took him to the bedroom.
We quickly conceived a baby and Perry tipped his invisible hat and bid me a farewell. I loved it when it was that simple!
I settled for a makeover, with it being the new year and such. I tried to get Matt to cut his hair, but when he piled it on top of his head he looked weird, and I decided his haircut was just fine. What I didn't mean for to happen was for Elephant and Jumangi to get little mohawks, thanks to Patrick and Mikey, and a bottle of hair gel they found at school. So many questions...
Pregnancy starters were kicking in. The toilet was absolutely disgusting, I guess that happens with living with three other boys. Hopefully this time they'll be girls.
The boys had been quiet for a while, which was suspicious. I peeked into their room to see what they were up to. Patrick swung a pillow and knocked Mikey square in the face. "I'm going to get you!" Mikey declared, he ran to the other side of the room. "Come and get me!" Patrick said swinging the pillow.
Mikey jumped behind Patrick. "I know you're there!" Patrick said laughing. Mikey swung the pillow and knocked Patrick on the back of his head. Mikey jumped in front of Patrick and laughed. "You sir have just declared war!!!" Patrick said laughing, and he began to repeatedly whack Mikey over the head.
"You won't win the battle!" Mikey said trying to stop the blows by smacking Patrick on the legs. "Don't need to, just gotta win the war!" Patrick replied. I slowly closed the door and stepped away, they were doing just fine.
Jumangi was getting more and more playful. Matt came home with a bag of old cat toys, saying his partners daughters cat had passed away, and that his daughter couldn't look at the toys without bawling, so Jumangi got some new toys! He personally loved the little pink squeaky mouse, he ran all around the living room with the thing.
Jumangi stopped dead in front of Elephants cage. His tail started to wag and his eyes glossened. "No Jumangi! That's not nice!" Matt said shooing Jumangi away from his precious little squirrel.
"Jumangi tried to eat Elephant." Matt said as we watched the weather channel. "Was he staring at Elephant, or was Elephant halfway down his esophagus?" I asked. "Well, he thought about it at least!" Matt argued. "Of course he did, Elephant will be fine." I said, turning my attention back to the television.
The baby kicked, and I knew that I was officially pregnant.
I picked up Jumangi. "You wouldn't eat Elephant would you?" I cooed. Jumangi meowed in response. "Does that look like a killer to you?" I asked showing Matt Jumangis innocent little face. "Not for a while at least." Matt said.
I set Jumangi on the ground and brushed him. "He wouldn't kill a fly." I say, even though when he's let outside he brings back dead snakes, and birds, but to my defence no rats or squirrels.
The next few days flew by quickly, this pregnancy was a breeze. Matthew was working on some reports for work, the boys were at school, and the animals were doing their own things so I decided to paint, there wasn't much else to do.
Three hours later I concocted a painting of a zebra, Matt kissed me and left for work. "What the heck am I going to do with a zebra painting?" I asked myself, so I decided to sell it online. Someone bought it right away, profited a good thousand dollars from it.
 Suddenly I went into labor.
It didn't take long before I had a baby girl in my arms. I named her Elizabeth.
When I was in the nursery I gave birth to another little girl. I named her Anna. Welcome to the world Anna and Elizabeth, welcome to the world.

I went downstairs after both girls were napping. I sat down on the couch and watched tv. My phone violently vibrated in my pocket, it was Diana, my mother was supposed to be coming home in the next week, maybe it was retainging to that. I answered. "Hello." My voice rang clear and through. "Cait?" Diana sounded strained and far away. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Cait, mom's going to go to Appaloosa Plains, but-she-she won't make it through the next two weeks... Cait... Mom's dying.." She whispered into the receiver. "Mom's dying?" I repeated, trying to grasp onto the fact.
